Rich in history

The 1000 Island Hart House is a Boutique Inn – operating as a B&B – with unique design, reflecting local culture and the history of the 1000 Islands. 

The Hart House tales begin in 1872, built by Elizer K. Hart and later purchased by George Boldt in 1892. The “cottage” built by Hart later became the Boldt home until Boldt Castle was started on the island. Boldt moved parts of the cottage to Wellesley Island. Boldt’s “country club” would later become the Hart House B&B.  Situated on Wellesley Island, and restored back to a boutique inn / bed and breakfast in 2022, The Thousand Island Hart House offers a retreat experience, unique & historic rooms, and many other ways to accommodate you for your next adventure. The Hart House legacy continues on…

On Wellesley Island you’ll have easy access to dining, golfing, boating, paddling, hiking, biking, and swimming. Thousand Island Park (TIPark) and Minna Anthony Nature Center are an easy drive from the Hart House. Alexandria Bay and Clayton, NY are two tourist towns with shopping, dining wineries and more await.

Built in 1894 the Thousand Island Country Club is one of oldest golf courses in the United States and two of the three courses on Wellesley Island. It’s a venue for social connection and relaxation. Wine tasting
